How do human dynamics and cooperation affect energy communities?
We’re developing participatory governance practices in the industrial and civic sectors to support the development of positive energy districts. We identify barriers to PEDs and ECs adoption to address shared challenges and develop a common ground for action. Tracking community engagement and policy changes, the project disseminates findings to amplify impact on civil society and policy environments, supporting cities in transitioning towards climate neutrality.
We’re working with local NGOs, cooperatives, municipalities, universities and engineering companies in six pilot projects in Rome (Italy), Styria (Austria), Budapest (Hungary) and Stavanger (Norway) to establish and strengthen local energy communities.
ENERGY4ALL is funded by the Driving Urban Transitions programme within the Positive Energy Districts Transition Pathway. The DUT Partnership boosts urban transitions through its three thematic priorities – the Transition Pathways. The Positive Energy Districts Transition Pathway (PED TP) aims to develop innovative solutions for planning, large-scale implementation, and replication of PEDs across Europe. PEDs are energy-efficient and energy-flexible urban areas that generate net zero emissions while managing renewable energy. The mission is to initialise 100 PEDs in Europe by 2025 and contribute to the Mission on Climate-neutral and Smart Cities with an innovation portfolio of PED solutions until 2030.
